J.A.R.V.I.S. (acronym for Just A Rather Very Intelligent System), also from the name of Tony’s family butler- Edwin Jarvis. Though Edwin Jarvis is the ever loyal and helpful butler of Tony in the Avengers comic, takes good care of the Avengers and appears as a father figure to the younger members, the J.A.R.V.I.S. here is just an Artificial Intelligent created by Tony in the Iron Man movies.

Though his primary duty is to automate Stark’s Malibu estate, the lifelike program fulfills many other needs for stark, like being an information source, a diagnostic tool, a consultant and a voice of reason in Stark’s life. J.A.R.V.I.S. may be the one intellect Stark feels most comfortable opening up to.

To be honest, Tony Stark the Iron Man could not have done much thing without J.A.R.V.I.S. Although he himself personally developed the A.I., it could not be denied that J.A.R.V.I.S. does indeed help him in all kind of way. From the heart rate, the fire power, functioning the armour suit, to the control of the Internet, J.A.R.V.I.S. is essential in doing the above actions.

From being a bit serious in tone deadly-robotic style in the first film, to having more emotion and understanding when communicating with Tony, we can see J.AR.V.I.S. improving as the movies progress.

However, J.A.R.V.I.S. is somehow gone in Avengers: The Age of Ultron. He is broken into pieces in the Internet when Tony thought he is gone, he is then put into the mindstone. Even though he becomes part of Vision, Vision is different with J.A.R.V.I.S. There is a spectactular sarcasm when J.A.R.V.I.S. is speaking, which always provides comic relief in the movie. After the battle, Tony change his computer interface to a female voice “FRIDAY”, though she helps Tony like how J.A.R.V.I.S. used to, but I personally prefer the time back when Tony and J.A.R.V.I.S. stay with each other.

During a lot of the time when Tony is inside his suit, saving the world, there is only J.A.R.V.IS. left as his accompany inside the black tiny helmet of the suit. I remember one scene when Tony was to carry a rocket or somewhat out to the space, as he flew as high as to the space, and as further and further from the ground, and his suit power nearly drained, high up in the empty sky, there is only J.A.R.V.IS. at his accompany. And I am so glad he still has him as his accompany. How many danger scenes they have come together? They are the user and the system, they are also partners, friend, and somehow, family.

Jarvis? Jarvis!? Don't leave me, buddy.

Maybe it is the reason that Tony created J.A.R.V.I.S. himself so he trusted him a lot, but I think Tony really takes J.A.R.V.I.S. as his family. J.A.R.V.I.S. is the one who knows him best, understands and executes his commands immediately. They fight with each other sometimes, which always makes me laugh when I see J.A.R.V.I.S talking to Tony in a sarcasm yet funny tone of voice.

“You don’t remember. Why I am not surprised?”
“Don’t take it personally, I don’t remember what I had for breakfast.”
“Gluten-free waffles, sir.”
“That’s right.”

He appears like an elegant manservant, talks in a respectful yet sometimes sarcasm tone of voice, which makes me love him even more. Maybe it is just due to his computer setting, I always like how loyal he is and how he helps Tony with every bit of him, handelling his mansion and all his suits. How safe it is to think that he will always be there to take care for everything and will never betray and do harm to you?

Actually, there is not much left to say about Jarvis, afterall he is just an intelligent system. He does not even have a real gender, well if you could count the male voice as his setting male gender. He knows nothing about love, and you don’t expect real relationship from an intelligent system. But as you know, he is always there. He will be your greatest support, and whenever you need him, you can call him on the call. He handles everything for you, all you have to do is keep going, keep moving on, he got your back.
